Back-to-Back Fun

Reed and I have had back-to-back weekends FULL of fun stuff going on! First, Reed competed (for the 2nd time) in the Heatwave Classic Triathlon, here in Ridgeland. This event consists of a 1/2 mile swim in the Reservoir, a 24.5 mile bike ride along the Natchez Trace and a 10K run. The race started around 7:15 am and it was already HOT HOT HOT!! Reed did great...he finished 7th in his age group (30-34) and 29th overall (out of 5oo competitors)!!! WOW!

Second, last weekend was Katy Hedglin's baby shower! We had such a great time celebrating little Hattie's upcoming entrance into the world. Katy (and Hattie) received some of the CUTEST things...little girl stuff is too adorable! It was a great time with great food and great friends. See below for pictures from these fun weekends:

Big Boy Shirt

Ok, so HOW CUTE IS THIS?!!! Sweet Aunt Sydnee decided that Stafford needed at least one "big boy shirt" in his closet so she sent him this...cutest thing I've EVER seen!! Needless to say, this little boy has no choice but to be an Ole Miss fan! Thank you Aunt Sydnee!!

A Work In Progress

Hey Everyone! It's time for a few "before" nursery photos!! We are slowly but surely coming along on Stafford's nursery. We've pretty much gotten the big stuff in and/or ordered so now we are waiting for it all to come together. His bedding and drapes are in the process of being made so once those are done, it'll look more like a room fit for a baby! I've found my glider and ottoman BUT have yet to decide on the fabric and once I get that accomplished - we can order it! We decided to keep the paint color very neutral so it was nice NOT to have to repaint anything. I'm still on the lookout for a small bookshelf (he already has TONS of books!) and paintings for the walls. See below for a few before pictures:

changing table and lamp (there's another lamp on the opposite end)...as you can see, ace is already guarding the door!!

his crib is up and ready to be dressed!!

Patycake Kids

Last Saturday, I attended the clothing launch party of Patycake Kids here in Jackson. Patycake Kids is a clothing line created and designed by my sweet friend and fellow Ole Miss girl, Shannon York Blanks. Shannon has designed some of the cutest, smocked clothing that I have ever seen and her prices are incredible!! Check out her link below AND if you're interested in hosting a home show (and getting free clothing for doing so!) please sign up or send her an email through the website! You don't have to live in the Jackson area to host a show either...she can ship you the samples wherever you are!! Stafford is going to be rocking LOTS of these precious outfits!!

Oh, and fun fact: 2 of the models are my nieces!! Aren't those the cutest kids ever?!!

What's In A Name?!

So, most of you know that I've had my children named (even when I was WAY too young to be thinking about having children!) for years now. I've always been a huge fan of using family names and I just so happen to love most of mine so I knew I would go that route...if my sweet husband approved, of course! SOOOOOOO....sweet little baby boy Stacy is going to be:

STAFFORD DAULTON STACY

What do y'all think?!! I, of course, love every single thing about this name but I'm a little biased! I've always wanted to use Stafford because my dad has 2 girls and he's the only Stafford son. We debated on whether or not to call him Ford (for short) but I think we're going to go with just Stafford. Daulton is Reed's middle name and his father's middle name...so I definitely wanted to use that as well. I cannot wait to meet our little man...only 18 more weeks to go!!

CCJ 4-Ball is Back!

Last weekend, Reed played in the annual Country Club of Jackson's 4-Ball Golf Tournament. This was his third year to play in the tournament with Sidney Allen as his partner. They did great! Basically, the guys play three rounds of golf (Friday - Sunday) and take the best shot of the partners. This is always such a fun event because it lasts the whole weekend long! Thursday night is the steak dinner for the players, Friday night is the big party for the players and their significant others and Saturday night is another dinner for the players. We always have so much fun during the 4-Ball Weekend and the pool opened up for the summer!! Below are a few pics from Friday night's party...with the Compositionz as the band!!

21 Weeks

It feels SO GOOD to be over the halfway hump! I had my 21 week doctor's appointment this morning and even though I don't have anything exciting to report - I thought I'd give y'all the stats anyway! This appointment was just a routine checkup so we didn't do a sonogram today. We discussed any issues/questions that I had at this point, listened to the baby's heartbeat (it was 150) and measured my tummy (19.5 centimeters). She said all of these measurements were right on target so that was good news!

I've slowly been getting the nursery ready and over the weekend took the next step - I delivered my fabric to the lady that's going to make his bedding! She said it would be ready in 2-3 weeks so I'm already looking forward to having it done and on the crib! I decided to go the custom route because I honestly couldn't find anything already made that I loved and that wasn't $800+. Besides, it's been really fun hunting for fabrics and putting things together!! Stay tuned for nursery pics!
