Memphis Takeover

Last weekend, the Stacy and Stafford families took over Memphis...and we had a ball doing it!  Our weekend started off bright and early on Saturday morning.  Sis and I registered for the Color Me Rad 5K in Memphis SOOO the whole squad (Reed and Stafford) got up early to drive to Memphis.  My parents met up with us to cheer us on!  This was my first "color run" event and we had the best time!! I don't know exactly how much running we actually did but we certainly had fun doing it!  We were all kinds of crazy colors when we finished...I was even the lucky participant that got color bombed (with bright PINK, might I add) right in the face!

Once we finished, showered up and changed...Sis and I met up with the rest of the crew for a little lunch THEN we were off to the Memphis Zoo!  I hadn't been to the zoo since college so I was just as excited to get there as Stafford was...actually, he wasn't that excited...he didn't have a clue what we were doing or where we were going BUT I like to think he was excited! The zoo really was great...he got to see lots of animals, ride the carousel and try a sip of his very first Coke Icee.  Yep, I went there...I let him taste coca cola.  :)

Little buddy was completely worn out so it was good that he was able to get in a cat nap on the way back to Oxford!  We had such a great weekend...I'm ready to do it again, soon!

Happy (early) Father's Day!

I know it's a little early but HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!  I have lots of men to be thankful for this weekend...LOTS!

First up (in no particular order), my dad.  He's such a fabulous "girl" dad and knows just what to say and do to keep a house full of women happy!  I must say, he spoiled me (and Sis) just a tiny bit...but hey, who isn't a fraction spoiled?!  So what if I'm 31 and he still brings me my coffee, puts gas in my car and cuts my steak for me when I'm home? (see, told you...spoiled!) He set the bar pretty high for what a great father should be, which leads me to...REEDY!

Boy-oh-boy, did I ever hit the jackpot with him.  Cute, smart, kind, athletic, funny, etc etc etc, and on and on and on. :)  He's a precious husband and a fabulous daddy and I thank the Lord for him every day.  He's patient, kind, loving and playful with Stafford.  He's a great teacher and I can't wait to see these two play basketball together one day!  Reed is such a good dad because he learned from the best, which leads me to...THE TWO C's!

All I can say to them is: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!  Thank you for raising this wonderful man that Stafford and I get to call ours.  The C's raised their kids right and taught them how to be good people, great husbands and fabulous fathers.  Those Stacy men are really and truly the best and we are really missing Paw Paw (the first C) right now.

I want to give an extra special Happy Father's Day to those that have come and gone too quickly: my Papa John, my grandfather JC, my grandfather JWS and Reed's grandfather P.  We are very fortunate to have had you in our lives.  Thank you for giving us great parents and for being awesome grandparents!

these guys = the best

The Little Gym Beginners

Ok, I have a new favorite kid place...The Little Gym!  If you haven't heard of this place, click on this link (http://www.thelittlegym.com/Pages/default.aspx) to check out the locations nearest you.

My sister-in-law, Helen, had my niece's birthday party at The Little Gym last month.  It was our first time to go and Stafford LOVED it!  Since the birthday party format is a little different from a class format, I decided to sign Stafford up for a free, introductory class (with his age group) to see if he still liked it.  Last Saturday morning, Stafford and I (plus my precious friend K and her little one, P) headed up to The Little Gym for their first "super beast" class.  They had SO MUCH FUN!  Stafford wasn't really up-to-snuff on the following directions part but he had the best time running around, trying out the balance beam, rolling on the mats and playing on the bars.  This is such a cute place and his teacher was ADORABLE!  You could tell that she really has a passion for kids and loves doing what she does.  Since the class was a success, I signed Stafford up for the 10-week summer session! Basically, I picked a day that was best for us to come (his age group meets a few times a week), got us paid up (they have great payment plans if you don't want to pay all of it at once) and now we are ready to go!  I guess it's never to early to get my flag-loving, future Olympian a head start, huh?!

BREAKING NEWS!!!

We officially have a BIG BOY!  Oh my...when did this happen?  Every day, Stafford is looking more and more like a little boy and less like a baby.  I know this is supposed to happen but I still get a little teary-eyed seeing my baby get so big and become so independent.  Big Boy status arrived at our house over the weekend...we upgraded from a high chair to a booster seat! The high chair was fabulous while it lasted but it was time for the change.  So, on Saturday, I headed to Target in search of a booster seat that would be easily adjustable.  I found one by Safety 1st (score!) and it was only $25 (double score!!).  When we tried it out for the first time, I just had to snap his reaction:

happy as a clam!

Memorial Day Weekend

A little behind in the posting, I know, but better late than never.  Memorial Day weekend was awesome! I hadn't been home to Tennessee since January so this long weekend was the perfect time to head back north for a little R&R and QT with the fam.  We had a great time eating at our favorite places, spending time with friends and loving on our family members.  See below for a few pics:
