Last weekend, Reed, Ace and I spent the weekend in Oxford for the Double Decker Arts Festival. Double Decker has ALWAYS been one of my favorite weekends in Oxford so I was really looking forward to getting up there after work on Friday. We didn't get in until kinda late so we cooked out with my parents and just chatted about this precious little boy on the way! Saturday, we headed up to the Square for lunch at Boure and a little shopping. I found the cutest things for our sweet baby at Belles and Beaus (right across Van Buren Avenue from The Lyric)! I probably went a little overboard but it's just so much fun shopping now that we know what we are having. Later that night, we helped host an engagement party on The Square for our good friends, Brittany & Joshua, who are getting married in July. It was a perfect night for BBQ, beer (Sprite for me) and balcony sitting. Our weekend flew by but we had the best time...I'm already looking forward to next year!!

And Baby Stacy Is...
a BOY!!! OH MY WORD!! Reed and I are going to have a SON!! It is really and truly so surreal to me. We went to the doctor this morning and had the sonogram first thing. First, she checked the chambers of the heart, the brain, the kidneys, etc. and said that everything looked great. The tech had a bit of a time getting a picture of this little man because he just wouldn't cooperate. She FINALLY got him to move his hands (HA) and gave us the good news! We are over the moon and thrilled to be having a son. I just "knew" we were having a girl and Reed just "knew" we were having a boy...I guess I'll give up on guessing the gender because I've been wrong a lot here lately! She said he had huge feet, long legs and was weighing about 7 ounces...still so tiny!! Looks like we have lots of sporting events, grass-stained jeans and triathlons (Reed is probably hoping!) in our future! Yay for Baby BOY Stacy!!!

Already Wishing on Monday
Sooooooo...we get to find out on Monday whether Baby Stacy is a boy or a girl!!!! Oh my goodness!! We are so excited and I hope that I can make it thru the rest of this week and the weekend without being totally crazy! To make a long story short, I had to cancel my doctor's appointment (that was for yesterday) and move it to Monday. Since I'll be 17.5 weeks, they said I could go ahead and have a sonogram and TRY to determine the sex. Keep your fingers crossed that Baby Stacy will cooperate with us so we don't have to wait any longer!! We are ready to know if we are going to be in for years of sports (or triathlons if Reed has his way) or dance recitals!!

My Ironman
Well, as you know from my last post, Reed's half ironman was this past weekend in New Orleans. This was his second time to compete in this event and he did so great! The weather in New Orleans was absolutely perfect all weekend long (the high was about 76) but the wind was NUTS! It was extremely windy throughout the entire city and on race day (Sunday) the officials decided to cancel the swim portion of the race. They said the winds were around 23 mph down on Lake Pontchartrain and that it wasn't safe for the athletes or safety personnel to be out on the water. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty happy that the swim portion was cancelled...that part just freaks me out! Reed was a little disappointed since he has been training so hard but he got over it! My sweet parents even made the drive down to watch him race! It was great to spend some time with them down in NOLA. On Saturday, while Reed was being briefed and racking his bike, I was able to meet one of my besties, Jill, for lunch and a little shopping! She took me to this great boutique, Baby Bump (on Magazine Street), and it was too fun!! Sunday, we were up bright and early for the race...as in 3:30 am for Reed and 4:15 am for me & Baby Stacy. Reed did so well and has really improved since this time last year. He biked the 56 miles in 2 hours 31 minutes, ran the 13.1 miles in 1 hour 37 minutes, had a 2 minute transition time and finished 37th overall in his age group (30-34)!!! I am so proud of him and how great he consistently does in these events. One race down...3 more to go!!

It's That Time Again!!
Well, friends...it is that time again - IRONMAN!! Reed is competing in his 3rd half-ironman this weekend in New Orleans. This is actually his 2nd time to compete in this particular race. Last year we had such great time and he did so well, especially for his first ever race! He finished in 5 hours 14 minutes which put him 31st in his age group. This year, his goal is to finish in the Top 10 in his age group. I just know that he can do it! I'll report back on Monday with all of the details. See link below for race information! http://ironmanneworleans.com/

Derby Day Revisited
This past weekend, I journeyed to Oxford to meet up with my Mom, my Memama and my Uncle. Since we aren't going to Dyersburg for Easter this year, I decided to drive up and see everyone! I had the best time! Coincidentally, it was also Derby Day weekend and Sis twisted my arm to come watch them dance on Saturday. It definitely hasn't changed much in the past 8 years (since that was my last derby day...8 years ago!!) but it was a slightly different experience being there, pregnant, with only water in my styrofoam cup!! Below are a few pics from the morning:
SPA 3
